Habersham Bank Homecoming Celebration

June 28, 2008

Homecoming 2008 was a wonderful success with record crowds coming out to enjoy the annual concert and fireworks show on the front lawn of Habersham Bank.   The weather cooperated, and we enjoyed a pleasant summer evening with a warm community spirit.  Everyone enjoyed the free Springer Mountain Farms water as well as the Habersham Bank and Springer Mountain Farms t-shirts that were shot from a t-shirt gun into the crowd.

The evening’s events started out with a marvelous performance of The Star Spangled Banner by Emily McLeod of Habersham County.   Emily is a 2008 graduate of Habersham Central High School who has won numerous awards for her vocal performances.

The opening act for this year’s show was The King Daddy Polecats out of Gainesville, Georgia.    This band has a unique style of blues, swing, and rockabilly that they deliver with a unique high-energy, entertaining style.   The crowd was ready to rock after enjoying a great show by The King Daddy Polecats.

The main attraction for our 2008 show was the Little River Band which has been entertaining crowds for over 30 years.   The Little River Band, in its first visit to Habersham County, put on a great show which will not soon be forgotten.   After their incredible show, the crowd was treated to our traditional Homecoming fireworks extravaganza which was a perfect way to end the evening.

The officers, directors and staff of Habersham Bank would like to thank everyone who came out and celebrated Homecoming with us this year.   We wish everyone a happy and safe 4th of July.

All of us at Habersham Bank appreciate your friendship, and we thank you for the opportunity to serve your financial needs.
